How long do lash extensions last?

With proper care, lash extensions can last up to 4 weeks, but regular infills every 2-3 weeks help maintain fullness.

Will lash extensions damage my natural lashes?

No, when applied correctly, lash extensions do not damage your natural lashes. I use safe techniques to ensure your natural lashes stay healthy and strong. Avoid pulling or rubbing them to maintain their condition.

Do I need a patch test?

Patch tests are optional but recommended, especially if you have sensitive skin or a history of allergies.

How do I care for my lash extensions?

Keep them dry for the first 24 hours.

1. Clean them with a lash-safe cleanser. (I sell these)

2. Avoid oil-based products (especially makeup and skincare).

3. Brush them gently with a clean spoolie.

4. Avoid rubbing your eyes or sleeping face-down.

5. Do not curl your lashes with a lash curler.

Can I swim, shower, or go to the gym with lash extensions?

Yes! Lash extensions are water-resistant, but avoid excessive water, steam, or sweat for the first 24 hours after application.

Can I remove lash extensions at home?

No, lash extensions should only be professionally removed to prevent damage to your natural lashes.

Do I need to take a break from lash extensions?

No, if your lashes are applied properly and you care for them well, there’s no need to take a break. Your natural lashes continue to grow and shed as usual. If you ever want to switch to a more natural look, options like lighter extensions or a lash lift can give your lashes a break from weight while still enhancing them.

Can I rub my lash extensions?

No, you should avoid rubbing or pulling at your lash extensions, as this can cause premature shedding and weaken your natural lashes.

Is it possible to over-wash my lash extensions?

Yes, excessive washing—especially with harsh products—can weaken the adhesive and cause premature lash shedding. While it’s important to clean your lashes reguarly, stick to a gentle, lash-safe cleanser and avoid scrubbing or soaking them excessively. Overwashing, especially with oil-based or strong cleansing products, can break down the bond and affect retention.

Why do my lash extensions shed?

Your natural lashes go through a growth cycle, just like the hair on your head. Each lash is in one of three phases:

1. Anagen (Growth Phase): New lashes are actively growing.

2. Catagen (Transition Phase): Lashes stop growing and prepare to shed.

3. Telogen (Shedding Phase): Old lashes naturally fall out to make way for new growth.

On average, we naturally shed 2-5 lashes per eye per day, but this often goes unnoticed because natural lashes are so fine. When you have extensions, each shed lash is more visible and noticeable because the extensions are longer and darker. This is completely normal!

To keep your lashes looking full, regular infills every 2-3 weeks help replace the lashes that have naturally shed.

Why should I wash my lash extensions?

Keeping your lash extensions clean is essential for good retention, eye health, and preventing buildup. Here’s why:

✔️ Prevents Buildup: Oils, makeup, and dirt can weaken the lash adhesive, causing poor retention.
✔️ Removes Sweat & Tears: Sweat and tears contain salt, which can crystallise on the lashes, making them brittle and more likely to shed.
✔️ Avoids Irritation & Infections: Not washing your lashes can lead to irritation, itching, and even infections like blepharitis.

When should I wash my lash extensions?

• Regular cleansing is recommended, especially if you wear makeup, sweat, or cry.

• Always use a lash-safe cleanser and avoid oil-based products.

Gently cleanse your lashes using a soft brush or sponge, then pat them dry—never rub!

How should I dry my lash extensions?

After washing your lash extensions, it’s important to dry them gently to maintain their shape and prevent moisture buildup. Here are two great options:

1. Use a Mini Fan
   Using a mini fan is an excellent way to dry your lashes quickly and safely. It’s a gentle breeze that doesn’t apply too much heat or force, preserving the bond of the adhesive. (I sell these).

2. Hairdryer (Low and Cool Setting)
   If you don’t have a mini fan, you can also use a hairdryer set to the coldest, lowest fan setting. Hold the dryer at waist height—this keeps the airflow gentle and ensures the extensions don’t get damaged from hot air.

Both methods are gentle and effective for drying your lashes without disturbing their shape or causing irritation.

How do I know if they’ll look natural?

You can choose from various styles and lengths that suit your natural look, whether you want something subtle or more dramatic. We’ll discuss your preferences during your consultation to find the best match for your eyes and face shape.

Will they be comfortable to wear?

Lash extensions are lightweight and feel like a natural extension of your own lashes. Most clients say they barely notice them after the first few days, and you can go about your daily routine without any discomfort.

What if I don’t like the result?

It’s totally normal to feel unsure at first, especially if it’s your first time getting lash extensions. You may need a day or two to adjust to the new look, as the added length and fullness can feel a bit different. If after a few days you’re still not happy, we can always adjust the style to be more natural or even remove them professionally. Your natural lashes will stay safe and intact throughout the process.

How long does the appointment take?

The appointment for a full set typically takes 1 hour 15 - 1 hour 45 minutes, but this can vary depending on your eye shape, the amount of natural lashes you have, and the style I create for you.

Will I feel anything during the application?

The application process is painless. Most clients find it very relaxing, as your eyes will remain closed throughout the session. You might feel the gentle touch of me applying the lashes, but there should be no discomfort. You may even drift off to sleep!

Will my eyes be irritated or red afterwards?

It’s possible to experience mild irritation or redness immediately after the appointment, especially if you have sensitive eyes that are prone to watering, but this usually goes away within a few hours. I use gentle techniques and safe products to minimise any discomfort, and I can adjust the eye pads and gel tape if needed.

What happens if I want to take a break from lashes?

If you ever decide to take a break from lash extensions, you can simply stop booking infills. Your natural lashes will shed as usual, and you can enjoy your natural lashes again. You can always return when you’re ready for a fresh set!

Is it okay to have lash extensions if I have sensitive or watery eyes?

Yes, absolutely! If you have sensitive or watery eyes, just let me know beforehand, and I can make sure you're comfortable throughout the appointment. I can add absorbable pads to the corners of your eyes to soak up any tears and dim the lights to make the environment more relaxing.
